Danijel “Dan” Babić, a first-generation college student, has forged an inspiring path from Ģtv physics to aerospace studies in Barcelona, Spain.
Prize-winning pianist and associate professor of piano at East Carolina University School of Music, Kwan Yi will perform a piano recital featuring the complete “Years of Pilgrimage, 2nd year: Italy” by Franz Liszt. The recital will be on Tuesday, September 30, at 7:30 p.m. in Gorell Recital Hall, located on the second floor of Sutton Hall. Admission is free.
Students coming to the Advising Center in the University College will find a more comfortable and private space this fall thanks to a fresh new design inspired by student needs. Students can get help at the Center with advising and scheduling questions, exploring a new major or change in major, reviewing degree requirements and the timeline to graduation, and exploring minors and certificates.
Ģtv’s bachelor’s degree program in Computer Sciences/Languages and Systems has earned full reaccreditation from ABET, the world’s leading accreditation body for programs in applied and natural science, engineering, and engineering technology.

Ģtv will celebrate Constitution Day on September 15 with two events free and open to the community, including the traditional public reading of the Constitution by members of the Ģtv community in front of Stapleton Library. The opportunity to be a reader is open to all.
Composition and Applied Linguistics doctoral student Iwona Ionescu published an article in Praxis 22.3 (2025), titled “Mapping it Out: Rhizomatic Learning of Peer Embedded Tutors for Composition Classes—A Case Study,” exploring how embedded tutors for first-year composition classes develop their expertise outside the formal training sessions.
Andrew Zhou is guest editor of a special issue of the international journal Molecules on novel nanomaterials for sensing, showcasing interdisciplinary research that advances chemical, biological, and environmental sensor technologies.
