The Indiana Fire Association invites Ä¢¹½tv students to apply for their Live-In Program.
In 2006, the Indiana Fire Association created the first firefighter Live-In program in Indiana County. The program is designed for firefighters to utilize the station as their full-time residence, allowing for a quick and professional fire department response. In exchange for free living accommodations, the live-in members are responsible for responding to emergency calls, performing station duties, and participating in training.
The IFA Live-In Program appeals to students who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional firefighter while others may seek the experience of living in a firehouse while attending college and pursuing their chosen professional careers.
The program can accommodate six live-ins participants, each with a private room with adequate storage for personal belongings. The station has full home amenities including a full kitchen and pantry, social room, four unisex bathrooms, a washer and dryer, internet access and gym/fitness room.
